Overview

Panmah Glacier Latok & Ogree Base Camp Skam La Trek:Only few tourists visit this side valley of the Baltoro, a fact which makes this trek appealing to lovers of mountain solitude. Moreover, in the valley of the Dumurdo River, mountains from which you get fantastic views can be reached relatively easily. As far as flora and fauna are concerned, this area is hard to beat. Here it is more likely than anywhere else to sight ibex and even bears and snow leopards.

There are two options: you can either follow the Chokti glacier and thus get to the base of the over 7000-metre-high mountains of the Ogre and Latok group;Or you can follow the Panmah glacier and possibly even the Nobande Sobande glacier, or the Drenmang glacier, where, however, you have to be prepared to meet difficult conditions. There are also passes into other valleys but these are very rarely used. This trek recommends itself to visitors who enjoy walking off the beaten track and love being alone in the mountains.
