Rakaposhi (7788m.) Expedition :Rakaposhi is ranked 27th highest on the Earth and the 12th highest in Pakistan Situated in the Karakorum Mountains Rang in the Nagar Valley near Gilgit-Hunza, Rakaposhi means “shining wall” in the local language one of the magnificent pyramids and beautiful mountains in the world, The Peak Rakaposhi is more popular for its beauty than its rank.
On June 25, 1958 Rakaposhi was first climbed by British-Pakistani joint expedition via the Southwest Spur/Ridge Mike Banks and Tom Patey of UK reached the summit. The North Spur was climbed on August 2, 1979 by Eiho Ohtani and Matsushi Yamashita of Waseda University Japan.
